Fighting the good fight

Meet Professor Nicholas Meriwether.

Or, as I have known him for six decades, “Cousin Nick.”  I’m not at all surprised he stood his ground.

The U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled recently in favor of philosophy professor Nicholas Meriwether’s First Amendment rights at Shawnee State University—and rightly so.

The appellate court also reversed a lower court’s dismissal of his lawsuit against university officials.

Shawnee officials had punished Meriwether because he refused to accede to a biologically male student’s demand to be referred to as a woman, complete with a female name and feminine pronouns, in accordance with the Portsmouth, Ohio, school’s policy, announced in 2016

When I asked him how he was holding up, he said, “It’s exhausting, yet exhilarating.”

Sound familiar? Nick’s a warrior in his arena. You go, cuz!

News you can use – Dinosaur hunting cartridges…

…this is a question often brought up in gun circles. Admittedly, it is mostly as a joke.
The questioner is often talking about something BIG like a T-Rex, Anklyosaurus or a Triceratops.
The fact of the matter is, there were dinosaurs from the size of field mice up to Dreadnaughtus at 65 tons. Some of them were vicious, fast killers.
Others were slow and docile. Yet others were armored or could fly.

Just like with modern game, each calls for a different thing.

This is 2021.  Scientists are mucking about with dinosaur DNA.  Who the hell knows what might happen?

The second Moderna shot kicked my ass.

Still beats having the Wuhan Flu since I’m a walking mass of co-morbidities.

Got the shot at 10:15AM yesterday, waited my 15 minutes, then hit the grocery store and was home by 11:15.

11:45, headache, aches, chills, and a 101.5 fever. Went to bed, got up again at 4PM, had some soup, and back in bed by 8PM with fever and chills and seriously annoying body aches and no interest in living any more.

Got up at 9AM, no real change, after a sweaty, chilled, and meh night. Still no interest in life.

Back in bed by 11, up at 3PM, still felt like crap but had the sweats that indicated the fever might be breaking. Right now, temp is 99.5, below 100 for the first time, and I’m feeling vaguely human.

No regerts.

Got shot #2 today.

I’m feeling this one moreso than the first one.

On the plus side, I’m feeling a great love for President BidenHarris, Madam Speaker Pelosi and my new idol Senate Majority Leader Schumer.

I also built a grotto for Saints Fauci and Birx.

I called BATFE to come and pick up all my guns and ammo, and I’m preparing a list of all the sketchy people I know for DHS and the FBI.  So it’s all good.

Treacher: “…You Just Need a Vaccination Card and Zero Self-Respect”

Please don’t misunderstand, I’m not an anti-vaxxer. You absolutely should get vaccinated because it keeps you from catching and spreading a deadly disease. But if you want a donut, you should pay for it yourself. Just because your mama didn’t raise you right, that doesn’t mean the rest of us should have to wait in line behind your cheap @$$ while you get your free donut with your stupid vaccination card. We have to pay for you, with the currency being our precious time on this planet. It’s just low-class, even for the sort of people who frequent Krispy Kreme.
